..::Maimi 17◊Nature Beauty::..
Yep, another photobook review and this time, it’s from one of my favourite H!P members. By the way I realized that recently my writings are more on single and photobook reviews which you guys are probably starting to get bored, but I can’t help it either. Currently I have no laptop to download any DVD, concerts or tv show to write on. Rather than leaving this blog inactive, I prefer making those reviews. I just have to wait for that thing and my blogging job would probably be better than now. So please bear with me. :(
Anyway, Maimi has turned 17 this year. To me, 17 is such an important age as this is the starting point where boys and girls are beginning to be referred as teens. The released of 17, her third solo photobook is probably to commemorate the beginning of a new life for her. This reminds me of Eri’s 20hatachi which was made for her 20th birthday. That photobook was a real killer from Eri as I believe I had never seen as much sexy Eri as the ones in here. As for Maimi, this is my first photobook of her, so I can’t say much on 17. But I think the photos aren focusing too much on sexiness an all that- just good enough for a teen.
The cover itself is great enough to represent to content. I always love long hair and Maimi’s complexion, so a close-up on her face is just perfect for a cover. Plus, the expression wasn’t cheap at all, especially her eyes. Nice, eh? Also, browsing through the pages I noticed that the mood of the pages are also changing. It’s nice to think that the photos are showing a day of a new life of Maimi. The first couple of pages are dark and kinda sorrow-looking, probably representing a birth of something new i.e, teenage Maimi. Then it moves to a cheerful day riding a bicycle, running aroud the beach, colouring her fingernails, wearing bikinis (again), hanging around with her cat (I wish they would find a better cat for her) and so on which is all about having fun in a new life. The scenes are colourful and cheery here, before it changes to pure white. Without actual reason, I find that this part is less interesting than the others. There are also a photo or two of how clean Maimi’s hands and foot are, which are totally pointless, I think. Finally things getting darker (night), marking the end of the day and the photobook.
Well then, enjoy these excellent photos of ‘nature beauty’ which I think are the best among the best in the photobook. Finally, credits to the original uploader from…uh…I can’t remember where I’ve downloaded this photobook from… *sigh* It proves how long I’ve been delaying this review.
