..::2009 Ranking◊°C-ute::..

2009 April 2

It took me a while to prepare this ranking as I can’t really find a nice, complete set of pictures of the members. Anyway, here it is: my second 2009 group ranking, C-ute!

2009-c-ute-ranking1

#01. Yajima Maimi

No surprise here. Should I elaborate anything here? Well, as I always say: she’s hot! But I must say that her voice is still kinda weird, but then again, unique. So I would mind that. Maybe she doesn’t contribute much (or she does), but I’m proud that she is leading C-ute to stardom. I remember her in High-King where she looked kinda fat in Cinderella\Complex.:P Maybe it’s just my imagination after all. However, I really hope that High-King is still alive, coz there’s Ai-chan, Reinya and Maimi in there! Apart from that, Maimi is taking a role in a movie, Fuju no Kaiden. Can’t wait to watch that one. I bet she looks cute in there and I just wanna listen to her real voice. And one more thing, April will be a wonderful month for her;she’s releasing another new photobook! It’ll be my first too!

#02. Nakajima Saki

Saki is… a revolution. To me at least. In just a year, she rises from the bottom three of my list (although I didn’t write one last year) to the second place in my heart. Gosh, just push aside those big (but really cute) teeth, and you’ll have a perfect girl in front of you. She starts to attract my attention in Edo no Temari Uta II, where all of her close-ups are perfect. Then there’s Forever Love, another wonderful single with quite a number of lovely Saki. Next was Aishiteru Aishiteru which made me just wanna say that phrase to her over and over! And things just gone better for her (and me) when she was announced to join Guardians 4, a new unit for the anime Shugo Chara. Having someone we once hate now becoming one of the girls we like, is just… wonderful. :)

#03. Suzuki Airi

Yeah, I kinda hate Airi too in the first place. The main reason back then was that I can’t stand watching her in Sakura Chirari. Even worse, she got lots of solo lines back there. It was simply a nightmare to have her around with that annoying smile. But hey, today, I can hate her no more, not with her great performance in Buono! Gosh! That group change a lot too; from stupid mini-bike ride to a nice walk in the middle of London. Her vocal is a perfect combination with Miya’s. And please note that they’ll be releasing another single in the nearest time.

#04. Okai Chisato

Apart from Maimi, Chisato is the only another member I liked when I first discovered this group. Looking at her ‘depressing’ smile always makes me feeling depressed too, but it’s cute, you know. I just wish she could stop smiling that way. Uh… I have nothing much to say about Chisato for now. She landed on this spot maybe simply because the others behind her are not as interesting as her. But I really enjoy her short solo lines in Forever Love.

#05. Umeda Erika

Things are starting to go downhill fast here. I don’t really like Erika, nor really like her. It’s like I’m okay whether if she’s around or not. Still, I have to say that there’s nothing much of her in Edo no Temari Uta II and Forever Love, except for One’s Life. I kinda like that song, and is quite satisfied with what Erika and the others could do. I favour watching her photos than watching her singing. But then again, her photos aren’t that nice either. So… yeah. This spot is just nice for someone I’m unsure of…

#06. Hagiwara Mai

From the first single to their sixth, none of them has anything interesting that I could get from Mai. Yeah, everybody says she’s damn cute and adorable, perfect for a young, school girl doing singing as a part-time job. But I just can’t stand her, for no actual reason. One’s Life made me soften a bit on her after the weird expression from her in Forever Love. Then recently, I watched Bye Bye Bye! where Mai sings the opening part, which is actually, kinda nice. But I’m not saying here “Wow, Mai’s so good!”. Gotta have more before that one comes. We’ll just wait and see.

#07. Arihara Kanna

No surprise here if you’ve been reading this blog since it’s birth. Until today, I still hate Kanna. I see nothing interesting in her personality, yet she has thousands if not millions of fans out there. The only good thing about her is her voice, which is nice (although annoying to hear) in Edo no Temari Uta II and Forever Love. But I gotta admit here that she pulled out something really nice from Aishiteru Aishiteru with Saki. Just love the feeling of that song. And that’s all I love about Kanna: her singing ability in Aishiteru Aishiteru. And regarding on her unfortunate luck on the bunion case, I feel kinda sorry to here that too. Of course, although I hate her, it’s not until the level of wishing others get hurt or ended up in a hospital. Don’t wanna say this, but I do (just a bit though, oh the ego-ness of me) hope she’ll come down from bed real soon and start waving “Bye Bye Bye!” with the others!

    Gotta agree with some Maimi and Saki lovin’! Airi wouldn’t be my #3 (probably Hagiwara) by any stretch, but Erika and Kanna are appropriately placed ^_^ Cheers!
