..::Too Bad It’s Too Short::..

C-ute had finally released their 6th single, Edo no Temari Uta II. Upon hearing this news some weeks ago, I really kept my finger crossed, hoping for another good single with a good pv like Namida no Iro. The title of this single is kinda funny for me, but somewhat meaningful and appropriate. You’ll understand later, I hope. I first heard a radio rip of this single two weeks ago, where it focused a lot on the chorus. I found it really, really interesting with those “eee, eee” sounds. I was nearly heart broken when confirming this single will not be as “serious” as Tokaikko Junjo or Namida no Iro, but I’m far away from jumping into a conclusion yet.
And then, Dohhh UP! has finally provide the PV of this single. By the time I’m writing this, numerous C-ute fans had already watched it and some had written their previews. For those who haven’t watch, enjoy it at the end of this post. When I first watched this PV and listen to the single’s full version, I honestly felt like crying. At the same time, I was chatting with Amy and the others in #wotachat and informed them that I was watching it (but forgot to tell them I was crying, coz at that time I was smiling too – the feeling is kinda mixing actually).

Let’s go into the song first. Again, the single starts with a short guitar play and then followed by a quacking(?) sound. Wonder what’s that for… I really love the guitar play, coz its somehow full of emotion, like it will be a sad and touching song. Then the beats start up. As always, Maimi takes the first line without hurting anyone. Then there are some lines for Erika and Saki. I really love them getting those short but sweet lines, especially Saki with that love symbol she made. Then its up to Airi. Both control their respective lines perfectly. Honestly Airi is getting better and better. Hmm, maybe its me who had just started to notice that. Those “eee, eee” sounds is really good, and I love Airi’s hand gestures when she’s ending that line. Next they come to the second verse, where Airi starts with another interesting sound of “hei, hei” and some lines, followed by Mai and Kanna. I was quite shocked to find out that I……. didn’t (or wasn’t able to) hate both of them in this PV. They were just too great, I can’t intentionly critic them at all. Then its Chisato. Oh, she really melts my heart with that “eee, eee” and her finger gestures plus her smile. Lets talk more about appearance later in this post. After that, they just repeat the chorus and it ended with a nice pose (and lustrous hand) of Maimi.
Next is the PV. As said, I really love this PV, and maybe its better than Namido no Iro. Umm… wait, Namida no Iro is the best in the “serious” series (Namida no Iro and Tokaikko Junjo), but this one is the best in the “entertaining/happy” series (Sakura Chirari, Meguru Koi no Kisetsu, LALALA Shiawase no Uta and Edo no Temari Uta II). Airi’s opening pose is great. The dances are good, and the best is at the chorus, where they are walking with a hand raised at chest level. The line distribution is good, just like Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance. They still focus on Maimi and Airi, but at the same time they didn’t forget the other four. I must say Saki is the best in this PV followed by Chisato (of course, Maimi outrun all of them). Saki looks really sweet. The best example is at the series of close-ups of the members. Looking at her and Chisato may be the real cause my tears dropped. Sooooo cuuute!!! Erika, I’m worried about her. Is she well? It looks like she’s somewhat ill and her face is pale, although she’s smiling. For some reason, I pity her… Anyway, I don’t really have to say anything about Maimi and Airi. Maimi is hot as usual (plus with that red kimono) and Airi sounded perfect, and not a lot of smiles either. Kanna and Mai, as said earlier, they’re good too. No flaws this time, and I can hear more from them as both of them get a short line each.

As for the appearance, Saki and Chisato are the best (I’ve said that already, haven’t I?), especially because of their hairstyle. All of them have great smiles, Airi’s is sustainable and Chisato didn’t brought that “desperate smile” to the PV this time. Okay, now for the clothings. I could say those are kimonos right? Overall, all of them were great coz the colours varies for each member, not like LALALA Shiawase no Uta, which has only two colours. Anyway, the best colour is Saki’s yellow. It really suits her complexion and smiles. I noticed that she’s somehow was focused a lot this time. Next is Chisato’s. I love the shoulder of her kimono, its like an anime character’s costume. I find it odd to see Erika with the black one. Why did she get that colour? It’s not really appropriate for this kind of song, you know. Airi always get the pink (and it suits her) and Maimi just burns my eyes again with that red kimono and smiles of hers. Hey, what is Mai wearing? Is that a kimono? Why is it sleeveless? Kanna’s was okay, but it looked like a common kimono to me. However, there is one thing I’m sure about the kimonos, they are seriously short! Especially Airi’s, hehe.
Finally its the background. Hey, who are those dancers up there? Are they Eggs? Just wondering. What is that large, orange construction at their back anyway? The electrical lights are cool, and the dark scenes are good too. I love looking at Airi’s silhoutte. The only problem I have with this single is that its too short, with just 2 minutes and 40 seconds. I think this is the shortest single I’ve ever heard. Dschinghis Khan is second (with the playtime of 3 minutes and somewhat around 40 seconds). I wonder what’s the problem. This single is good, but the lyric is too short. All I know is this song was not written by Tsunku (and why is that? Is he running out of ideas?), but someone else (I forgot the name, sorry).
I think C-ute is finally starting to become a worthy group for me to adore. This single could rival Berryz Kobo’s Dschinghis Khan. Can’t wait to have it in my mp4. If anyone has the .mp3 format of this song, could you tell me where I could download it, please?
