..::They’re Good Too::..
Recently, I was paying some attention to Berryz Kobo and C-ute. Actually, their songs were not bad at all, except for one or two. Overall, they still can’t overcome Morning Musume. Why? Because they really lack of singles (especially C-ute). Yes, I understand, their journey as a J-pop group is not as matured as the Musumes, but Tsunku need to work real hard and increase the number. Second, there are too much ‘cuteness’ in the songs (again, especially C-ute).
Until now, the best song to me from both of the groups are:
Berryz Kobo
- Anata Nashi de wa Ikite Yukenai
- Kokuhaku no Funsui Hiroba
- Special Generation
- Very Beauty
- Munasawagi Scarlet
- Dschinghis Khan
C-ute
- Sakura Chirari
- LALALA Shiawase no Uta
- Namida no Iro
Anata Nashi de wa Ikite Yukenai is a really good song for a start. Honestly, its better than Musumes first single. Kokuhaku no Funsui Hiroba is simply Berryz’s best single for a slow mood. I always had the perfect scenery lingering in my mind (I hadn’t watch the PV yet when writing this) when I listened to the song: at night, alone in a garden, surrounded with such greenery, and enshrouded by the moonlight. Special Generation has the best fast beat song for the Berryz. Just love their voices when pronouncing ’special generation’…
As for the C-ute, yep, same as Berryz, their first single is great. Both group brought more joy in the song compared to Musume, which varies from sad, joy and angry songs. LALALA Shiawase no Uta was kinda funny. From the first time I heard it, I can’t stop thinking that this song is specially made to be heard only from a radio when you are alone in a room or something. ONLY from a radio, no MP4s, no computers. It doesn’t mean anything bad, but the sound and tempo are really unique.
As I’m writing this post, I haven’t get the chance to look or learn about any members of either group.
Rumour is there will be new single from one of the groups. That’s just great, but Musumes? Where are you???
